Reactor & Fluid Chilling |
|
Linde's patented CUMULUS® Fluid Temperature Control (FTC) System is an extraordinary heat exchanger system that eliminates the freezing problems normally associated with cryogenic cooling systems.
The technology is an excellent choice for applications requiring ultra-low cooling. Examples include improving yields on chiral reactions, crystallizations, and distributed cooling loops. |

Linde manufactures five standard models with varying capacities. The standard models can cool down to -100C; the XLT model can cool down to -120C:
MODEL | COOLING CAPACITY (BTU/HR) |
PX5 | 17,500 |
PX20 | 70,000 |
PX50 | 175,000 |
PX100 | 350,000 |
PX50XLT | 350,000 @ -100oC;
175,000 @ -120oC |
The equipment is very reliable, repeatable, and incredibly precise with an accuracy of +/- 0.3C. The CUMULUS® FTC system is easy to operate with a user-friendly, push-button control panel featuring a continuous graphical display of the customer's process. |

| Units sold to North American customers are fully "Americanized" featuring ANSI flanges, ASME pipe and exchangers, Allen Bradley SLC500 series control panels, and the customer's choice of NEC rating. Linde has extensive experience in this field and routinely offers turnkey solutions including pumps, heat transfer fluid selection, customized programming, and all ancillary equipment to form a complete, seamless system. Optional heating modules are also available. |

Low capital equipment and installation expenses make the system quite cost effective. The system's rapid cool down times and precise accuracy minimizes the operating costs related to liquid nitrogen. Operating costs become especially low -- and are sometimes eliminated -- when one can reuse the pure gaseous nitrogen effluent from the system. Linde also offers rental and lease-to-own options to help improve the system's affordability or those with short-term production campaigns.
