Our Commitment |
As a member of the American Chemistry Council, Linde is a Responsible Care ® company. The American Chemistry Council launched Responsible Care ® in 1988 to respond to public concerns about the manufacture and use of chemicals. Through Responsible Care ®, member companies are committed to support a continuing effort to improve the industry's management of chemicals. Responsible Care® companies:
- Continually improve their health, safety and environmental performance
- Listen and respond to public concerns
- Assist each other to achieve optimum performance
- Report their goals and progress to the public
Obligations of Responsible Care® fall into the following four categories:
- Implementation of the Security Code – All member companies must submit a Responsible Care® Security Code Implementation Affirmation Statement signed by their Responsible Care® Coordinator and Executive. The Affirmation Statement reflects the complete implementation of the Responsible Care® Security Code’s thirteen management practices in the areas of physical, cyber and value chain security.
- Third-Party Certification of a company Responsible Care® management system – The third-party certification is to ensure appropriate actions are being taken to improve performance. Third- party certification includes both headquarters and appropriate facilities. Re-certification of each must be completed within a three year cycle.
- Tracking, Reporting and Transparency of Metrics – Annually tracking and publicly reporting performance based on economic, environmental, health and safety, societal and product related metrics
- Signing of the Responsible Care® Guiding Principles – All ACC Members and Responsible Care® Partners must sign the Responsible Care® Guiding Principles upon their joining either the ACC or the Responsible Care® Partnership Program.
